De Leidse masteropleiding in Russian and Eurasian Studies biedt je een uitgebalanceerde combinatie van verschillende disciplines, die ons uniek maakt in Nederland. Je kunt je richten op de taal, literatuur en cultuur van Rusland en de Euraziatische wereld, of juist op de politieke, historische en economische achtergronden van de regio.
Een combinatie van de twee behoort ook tot de mogelijkheden. Rusland en de Slavische wereld worden in Leiden al sinds 1913 bestudeerd en hebben sindsdien een ijzersterke internationale reputatie opgebouwd.
Voor de meeste vakken is kennis van het Russisch niet vereist.
Programme
Our programme offers a degree of built-in flexibility. You will select four courses from our department, but you have the option to exchange one or two courses for relevant courses taught outside the department, for example at the University of Amsterdam.

Our courses on linguistic subjects are based on cutting-edge research carried out at one of the largest linguistics institutes in the world, the Leiden University Centre for Linguistics. Research on modern Russian society and its historical background is embedded in the Leiden University Institute for History, which has a strong international orientation with a special focus on the study of non-European societies in a global context.
At the end of the programme, you will write a thesis based on your original research. A member of the academic staff specialised in your field of research will supervise you throughout the writing process.
