Vanaf september 2011 zal de researchmaster Political Science aangeboden worden als specialisatie van de nieuwe researchmaster Political Science and Public Adminstration. In deze nieuwe interdisciplinaire opleiding kun je ervoor kiezen om je te specialiseren in politicologie of bestuurskunde, terwijl je daarnaast ook vakken volgt uit een gezamenlijk curriculum.
Entry requirements
Students are admitted to the research master’s on the basis of a BA in Political Science or in Public Administration, or a BA with a major in either of these fields, obtained with excellent results. In addition, students holding a degree in another scientific field may also be accepted to the programme if their prior studies or other relevant experience can be considered equivalent. The Admissions Committee uses the following criteria for assessing the students suitability for this programme:
- A demonstrable affinity with an area of research in the programme, as evidenced for instance by a BA thesis or by a paper.
- Above average academic performance, as evidenced by a transcript (f.e. average grade at BA level of ‘8’ or higher (rounded to a whole number) in the Dutch grading system or equivalent in other grading systems) and/or other indicators ( relevant extracurricular activities, honours programme, etc).
- Training in research methods and techniques and statistics at the BA level should minimally account for 15 ECTS
- Demonstrated English-language proficiency as evidenced by a TOEFL score of at least 625 (paper based)/ 263 (computer based)/ 106 (internet based) or an IELTS score of at least 7.5.
