Rechtsgeleerdheid is een eigenaardig instituut in de moderne maatschappij. Ons leven is er op alle gebieden van doordrongen en onze dagelijkse handelingen worden er op allerlei manieren door beïnvloed. Maar wat is het recht precies? Waarom zijn sommige regels wet en andere niet? En wat bepaalt eigenlijk of iets een regel is? Is recht altijd wet of vinden wij recht ook op andere plaatsen? Wat is de juiste methode voor het ontwikkelen van wetten? Op wat voor manieren redeneren juristen wanneer zij het recht willen toepassen op een zaak?
Entry requirements
- BA degree in Philosophy of a Specific Discipline from a recognised university, a BA degree in the chosen discipline and a completed pre-master’s in philosophy, or a BA degree combining philosophy and the chosen discipline from a recognised university.
- Applicants are requested to enclose a writing sample. The text should be written in English, focus on a philosophical subject, and preferably consist of no more that 2000 words.
- Proof of sufficient proficiency in English: IELTS test level of at least 6.5 or TOEFL score of at least 570/230/88-90, evidenced by an appropriate test.
This requirement does not apply if you have:- completed your education in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia, or
- an International Baccalaureate, or
- a Dutch VWO-diploma

Applicants with a higher professional education (HBO) degree are not eligible for admission.
