De specialisatie Literary Studies (research) onderscheidt zich van andere MA opleidingen in Nederland door de intensieve samenwerking met de MA programma’s van Media Studies en de Research Master specialisatie Arts and Culture ; het gezamenlijke onderwijsprogramma biedt je de mogelijkheid om verschillende waardevolle (interdisciplinaire) vaardigheden op te doen, waaronder historische en theoretische.
Er vanuit gaande dat de studie van culturele objecten en gebruiken gefundeerd is op een overkoepelend theoretisch en methodologisch kader, worden in deze specialisatie zowel media als kunst en literatuur bestudeerd.
Entry requirements
- Bachelor degree in Comparative Literature or in a specific Language and Culture (Dutch, English, French etc) from a recognized academic institute.
- The prime requirement is for a proven affinity with and ability for scholarly research. This may be demonstrated, for example, by an average mark of at least 7.5, and a grade for the BA thesis of 8 or higher.
- A demonstrated strong motivation to commence the Research Master (a letter to the admission committee should give a convincing indication of this).
- Proof of sufficient proficiency in English: IELTS test level of at least 6.5 or TOEFL score of at least 570/230/88-90, evidenced by an appropriate test.
This requirement does not apply if you have:- completed your education in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia, or
- an International Baccalaureate, or
- a Dutch VWO-diploma
Applicants with a higher professional education (HBO) degree are not eligible for admission.
