De eenjarige masterspecialisatie Islamic Studies biedt een introductie tot verschillende theoretische en methodologische benaderingen van de studie van historische en hedendaagse vormen van islam. Het centrale thema van de opleiding is ‘islam en samenleving’, met nadruk op de vergelijkende studie van moslimgemeenschappen. Met deze master wordt beantwoord aan de groeiende vraag naar internationaal georiënteerde opleidingen die grondig onderwijs bieden in de methodologie van de islamologie.
Career
As a graduate of the MA in Islamic Studies, you will be qualified to move into an academic career, possibly to follow a PhD programme. Alternatively, you will be qualified to work in marketing functions within internationally operating companies, or with specific commercial enterprises that have links with the Islamic world.
Alumni have also chosen career paths within the diplomatic service, or have found policy-making positions at ministries, in refugee aid, or in the Immigration and Naturalisation Service. A career in the education sector is also an option.
