In de specialisatie Hebrew Bible Studies bestudeer je de literatuur en cultuur van het Oude Israƫl binnen een brede context (de wereld van het Oude Testament/Hebreeuwse Bijbel) vanaf zijn ontstaan, circa 3200 jaar geleden, tot zijn ondergang als een politieke entiteit in het jaar 135.
Entry requirements
- BA degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline (such as Hebrew, Theology, Jewish Studies, Semitics, Assyriology, Religious Studies or Theology majoring in Old Testament/Hebrew Bible), each with a substantial component in Biblical Hebrew
- The prime requirement is for a proven affinity with and ability for scholarly research. This may be demonstrated, for example, by an average mark of at least 7.5, and a grade for the BA thesis of 8 or higher.
- Proof of sufficient proficiency in English: IELTS test level of at least 6.5 or TOEFL score of at least 570/230/88-90, evidenced by an appropriate test.
This requirement does not apply if you have:- completed your education in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia, or
- an International Baccalaureate, or
- a Dutch VWO diploma
Applicants with a higher professional education (HBO) degree are not eligible for admission.
