Lecturers are eminent professors who are very well regarded in their fields as critical and constructive analysts and thinkers. An intensive interaction between students and faculty is fostered, typically resulting in greater involvement on the part of the students and, consequently, better results.

Professors are prominent members of important academic institutes (such as the Max Planck Institute’s Advisory Council, the Academic Committee of the European Association of Tax Law Professors, the Competition Law Group, the Centre for European Legal Studies, the University of Cambridge, and the Society for Advanced Legal Studies) and professional organisations (such as the Fédération Internationale de Droit Européen, the International Bar Association, the European Law Organisation and the Nederlandse Vereniging Europees Recht, i.e. the Dutch Association of European Law).

Staff members are recognised for their contributions to leading publications such as the Common Market Law Review, the European Foreign Affairs Review, the Fordham International Law Journal, the European Law Review and the Maastricht Journal of Comparative and European Law. At the same time, they keep track of topical developments by engaging in contract research, advisory positions to international organisations such as the European Commission or the UN, or in legal practice as lawyers and counsel.

The Accreditation Panel 2007 commented:
Throughout the programme there is a good deal of interaction between education and research. All lecturers are involved in research in their own respective areas of teaching. In many courses students are required to write papers and assignments, to carry out case studies, etc.

Guest lecturers occupy senior positions at prominent legal firms such as De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek or PricewaterhouseCoopers, and at international courts or international organisations.
