In de masterspecialisatie Comparative Public Management staat de thematiek van het complexe management van de publieke sector centraal. We houden ons bezig met de vraag naar besturing, strategievorming en doelbewuste verandering van publieke organisaties in de context van het Nederlandse openbaar bestuur. Dat publieke en veelvormige (multi-level governance) karakter van het openbaar bestuur zorgt voor de nodige complexiteit en uitdagingen voor de publieke sector manager. Centraal in deze specialisatie staat dan ook de vraag: hoe wordt met die complexiteit en uitdagingen omgegaan om tot een hoogwaardige publieke dienstverlening te komen?

The key theme is the complex management of the public sector. The demand for direction, strategy development and conscious change in public organisations in the context of Dutch public administration. The style of public administration creates a degree of complexity and challenges for the public sector manager. How are this complexity and these challenges handled with a view to ensuring the provision of high-quality public services.
