De masteropleiding Comparative Indo-European Linguistics behandelt de studie en het vergelijk van een groot aantal aan elkaar gerelateerde talen in Europa en Azië.
De opleiding biedt je een binnen Nederland uniek en inspirerend studieprogramma. Niet alleen is dit de enige opleiding in zijn soort in het land, je bent tevens in de gelegenheid om talen te bestuderen die niet gedoceerd worden bij enig ander Nederlands instituut, zoals Armeens, Albanees, Avestisch en Litouws.
Studenten die Indo-Europese talen willen combineren met een dieptestudie in een taal of een groep talen kunnen hun voordeel halen uit de vele talen die aangeboden worden door de Faculteit der Geesteswetenschappen, zoals Indologie, Klassieke Talen, Slavisch, Perzisch en talen van het Oude Nabije Oosten.

Career
Over fifty percent of graduates from the MA in Comparative Indo-European Linguistics programme have taken a full-time or temporary academic position, with many moving into PhD research. Those that haven’t chosen research-based positions can be found working in positions that demand a high level of academic thinking, such as publishing, teaching, ICT, the diplomatic service and other governmental positions.
