De specialisatie Book and Digital Media Studies houdt zich bezig met het dynamisch proces van kennis en informatieoverdracht in analoge (druk) en elektronische (internet) media. Je bestudeert zowel de historische ontwikkeling – van Gutenberg tot Gates – als de moderne praktijk van de tekstuele communicatie in hun maatschappelijke en technologsche context. Veel aandacht wordt besteed aan de ingrijpende consequenties van de digitale revolutie voor de wereld van het boek.
Het programma kent drie aandachtsgebieden:
- Digital access to cultural heritage
- History of the book
- Publishing Studies
Het unieke karakter van het MA programma trekt studenten aan van over de hele wereld.
Entry requirements
- A university level BA degree in Humanities.
- A selection interview, either in person or by telephone, is part of the application procedure.
- A thorough proficiency in English: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 570/230/88-90 evidenced by an appropriate test.
- This requirement does not apply if you have:
- completed your education in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia, or
- an International Baccalaureate, or
- a Dutch VWO diploma
Applicants with a higher professional education (HBO) degree are not eligible for admission.
