De specialisatie Assyriology biedt je een breed opgezet programma met een multidisciplinaire studie van verschillende beschavingen die het spijkerschrift gebruikten. Een sterke nadruk op samenleving en overheid zorgt voor een waardevolle toevoeging aan het methodisch raamwerk van de Research Master.
Entry requirements
- BA degree or its equivalent, with a relevant regional or disciplinary specialisation (i.e. Mesopotamian and Anatolian Studies)
- The prime requirement is for a proven affinity with and ability for scholarly research. This may be demonstrated, for example, by an average mark of at least 7.5, and a grade for the BA thesis of 8.0 or higher.
- A sufficient working knowledge of the languages that are of essential importance within the specialisation, i.e. Akkadian, Sumerian, and Hittite.
- A strong motivation, and demonstrated affinity with and ability for scholarly research
- Proof of sufficient proficiency in English: IELTS test level of at least 6.5 or TOEFL score of at least 570/230/88-90, evidenced by an appropriate test.
This requirement does not apply if you have:- completed your education in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia, or
- an International Baccalaureate, or
- a Dutch VWO-diploma
Applicants with a higher professional education (HBO) degree are not eligible for admission.
