De masterspecialisatie Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory richt zich op studenten die zich willen specialiseren binnen de algebra, meetkunde of getaltheorie. Populaire collegonderwerpen zijn bijvoorbeeld algebraïsche getaltheorie, algebraïsche meetkunde, algebraïsche topologie en cryptologie. De specialisatie participeert in het Erasmus Mundus uitwisselingsprogramma ALGANT.
Programme
Leiden offers courses at an advanced level ranging over topics such as algebraic number theory, algebraic geometry, cryptology, algebraic topology and diophantine approximation. There is a large degree of freedom in choosing one’s own topics. Some of the courses are given at national level, in the Dutch mastermath programme. The two-year programme concludes with the preparation of a master’s thesis.
