LLM European Law students visit Europol and Eurojust in The Hague
This year the Master students of European Law are studying European Freedom, Security and Justice in their privatissimum course. This is a policy area that is concerned with collaboration in the field of migration and police cooperation. Two European agencies involved in this area are located in the Hague.
On 25 November a visit was made to Europol, the organization that coordinates police cooperation in Europe. Legal advisor Neumann talked about the history of Europol, the activities it carries out and its successes.
On 2 December the students visited the European judicial cooperation body Eurojust. They listened to a presentation by Ian Cunningham, member of the ‘UK desk’ at Europol and a member of the English Crown Prosecution Service. In his interesting presentation and the ensuing discussion with the students, Cunningham explained how the public prosecutors of 29 European countries collaborate at Eurojust.
